Ukrainian delegation at the Reeperbahn Festival 2024
A Ukrainian band “Say Something Bad” and three representatives of the music industry will represent Ukraine at this year’s Reeperbahn Festival 2024.
One of the most famous music festivals in Germany, the Reeperbahn, will take place from September 18 to 21. This year, Ukraine will be represented by three representatives of the Ukrainian music industry and the music band “Say Something Bad”.
The delegation consists of:
- Yevheniy Skrypnyk: Founder of the NGO Shum.Rave, who initiated a series of rave parties in Sloviansk in 2019 to respond to the lack of nightlife, cultural activities and electronic music scene in the Donetsk region.
- Maryna Mychailowa: concert manager for the artists Lucas Bird, Seba Korecky, Alinikus and PoBo, co-organizer of the “VERTUHA” music events and co-founder of the label “VERTUHA Records”.
- Yurii Bazaka: Founder and managing director of the Ukrainian music agency “kontrabass promo”, co-founder of the charity fund “Musicians Defend Ukraine” and concert manager for the bands “The Unsleeping”, “Kurs Valut”, “Pyrih i Batih” and “Struktura Shchastia”.
The Ukrainian band “Say Something Bad” has been selected to perform at the Showcase Festival on September 20. They are a minimalist duo that plays indie rock with blues influences. In the last two years, the band has released three EPs and an LP entitled “Reflection”. Today, “Say Something Bad” has over 40,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, and according to the Ukrainian media SLUKH, the band is steadily gaining popularity and has a good chance of becoming the country’s most up-and-coming rock band.
The Reeperbahn Festival is an annual four-day international festival and conference that brings together a broad and professional audience on Hamburg’s famous Reeperbahn. The Reeperbahn Festival was founded in 2006. Since then, it has developed into one of the most important international events where music professionals from all over Europe come together to network, participate in conferences and discover new music styles and trends.
