On 24 February at 19:00, a closing event will be held at St. Matthäus-Kirche for the exhibition ‘24-2=2022’ by Ukrainian artist Alevtina Kakhidze and Polish artist Renata Rara Kaminska. It is dedicated to the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.

At the beginning of the event, the Ambassador of Ukraine, Oleksii Makeiev, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Jan Tombiński, will give welcoming speeches.

This will be followed by a panel discussion.

The guests of the discussion are:

• Kim Brian Dudek (Director of the Pochen Biennale, Chemnitz)

• Jörg Heiser (Executive Director of the Institute for Art in Context, Berlin University of the Arts)

• Katarzyna Sitko (Director of the Polish Institute in Berlin)

Moderation: Kateryna Rietz-Rakul (Director of the Ukrainian Institute in Germany)

The participants will discuss how the work of German cultural and socio-political institutions has changed in relation to Ukraine since 2022 and what sustainable changes they plan to implement in the future in their work and in their respective organisations in a rapidly changing reality.

The discussion will address the following questions:

• What has been done so far with regard to Ukraine?

• What lessons have been learned from working with Ukrainian organisations?

• What sustainable and institutional steps are planned for the future?
